As pets age, they slow down a bit, or they are not as active as they used to be. Older pets need as much care and attention as a younger animal does. Although they might not be as active, or what have you, they still need your love and affection as much as a younger animal does.
One thing that can be worrisome sometimes is animal health when the animal is very old. Somtimes the animal can lose bladder function, or have other health issues. One thing I recommend is animal health care insurance if you can afford it. Why? Because when your pet ages, there can be numerous health issues and its best to be prepared to have some kind of insurance for your pet.
I haven't gotten Jingles health care coverage right now, but I will soon. She is fortunately, a very healthy cat. Her check ups have all been good. As Jingles gets older she will have health care. She is 12 years old right now, and she has a good 6 years left in her for sure. She might be a senior cat but I am teling you, she has
not slowed down one iota. She is much more active now that she used to be as a younger cat :D Think seriously about coverage for your older pet. I think its a good idea. That way, you might not be swamped with an unexpected large vet bill!

Why I love Shirley's dogs
There are a few reasons. One of them is that no matter how rotten I feel,if they are around its insta smiles from me. They are both cuddle bugs and when you feel down, or are not in the greatest of moods, her dogs can really make you happy.
I like their energy as well. I like it when animals want to play. It gives you motivation to want to play with them. Animals are very good for people who have mental illnesses like me. The one thing that animals can do is keep you focused on them and not on your troubles. Shirley's dogs are a delight to me. I really miss them!

That is really over doing it!

I can see a coat on a dog when its cold, but seriously, barettes and necklaces on some dogs? Nah. That's truly going overboard. Dogs were born with fur and unless the weather is very very cold, things like in this photo, well its over done.

WHY I have a problem with addicts owning animals
I have a real issue with drug addicts owning animals. As far as I am concerned, they should not own animals! Far to many of these poor creatures end up half starved, beaten, or abdoned. So yeah, I have real issue with addicts owning animals. They should ONLY own an animal IF they have undergone successful treatment for their addiction, and have a job, and can prove to the court that they'll take care of it and love it. Otherwise, I can't stand the idea of drug addicts owning ANY animal for that matter!

Sunday Silence
Today, think about all the animals who have been lost to their owners in Haiti. While I published a post on my main blog, Marilena's Corner about helping the children, think also about all the animals too who have no home now when theirs was either destroyed in the quake, or their owners are no longer able to care for them.
Please think about them too. God bless you!
